I searched to see if this question had already been answered and could not find anything, I apologize if it has been previously answered.

Anyway, I bought some DVDs off eBay that are burned. They did not work with one of my DVD players (a Toshiba), but worked on my Dell laptop and my Magnavox DVD player.

Are their specific kinds of DVD players that will play burned DVDs and others that won't, or is it just hit or miss?

    Thanks for your help!

most new players will play burns, not all. the new ones usually will say on them dvd, cd,mp3,dvd-r,dvd+r on down the line. older ones it's kinda hit/miss.

Toshibas are notoriously picky about burned media.
