Maybe it doesn't like your media (the type of DVD-R(RW) you used. Also, it's helpful to get an ISO EXTRACTOR so you can see the files you're about to burn. Make sure the downloaded iso has a default.xbe also.

i used quix to extract it and there was an error because quix only extracts xbox isos and it turns out that its fake thanks for the help anyway

Doesn't matter what version of xbox you have. They all play "burnt" games.

Some xbox dvdrom drives are better or worse at reading different disc's.
Your best bet is to go with dvd-r. dvd+r usually won't work unless the booktype setting is changed to dvdrom.
Some drives will do this automatically.

Um, no it doesn't. It's just advertisement. The program can't possibly read the xbox game in a PC DVD-ROM drive. It's not possible buddy.

Yeah that software migth make an iso and burn it to a disk and then it will only run on modded xbox's in the first place, which any iso maker and a good burner will do for you for free. the way you can tell if it is a dvd-r or +r is on the packaging. PIRACY ILLEGAL......downloaded games? come on guys if your gona talk about piracy make it a little less obvious.

Put it in your PC and fire up DVD Decrypter. Choose mode-> ISO-> read.. for the drive your disc is in. It will tell you all the info you need.
