I JUST BOUGHT A NEW COMPUTER FROM DELL.
AFTER 4hrs OF TECH SUPPORT, THEY CAN'T EVEN HELP ME WITH THE PROBLEM. SO I'M REACHING OUT TO THE REAL EXPERTS! EVERY TIME I TRY TO BURN A DVD, IT TELLS ME THAT THE FILE IS MORE THAN WHAT THE 4.7G DISK WILL HOLD. I, PERSONALY, SEARCHED FOR DISK WITH MORE STORAGE AND HAVE NOT FOUND ANYTHING MORE THAN 4.7G. THE HAS TO BE A WAY TO DOWN SIZE A 7.3G FILE TO FIT ON THAT DISK. IS THERE SOFTWARE THAT DOES IT? PLEASE HELP BEFORE I PULL THE LITTLE HAIR THAT I HAVE OUT.

Well, you have to give us more information! Is it a DVD +R(w)/-R(w)/RAM drive ?! I'm guessing you wanted to back-up a DVD movie wich is most of the time BIGGER then the DVD-R disks you buy in the store. The best tool i could find for this is DVD2ONE (www.dvd2one.com) wich is really great & very easy to use!

Yeah that it's main purpose ! ;) It will downsize the DVD to a size that will fit perfectly on a DVD+R disc! I suggest you read some artikels at www.dvd2one.com how to procede! (You'll be needing a ripper like smartripper or dvddecrypter.)Use Nero, DVD UDF 1.02 format, create VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS folders and burn it to a DVD+R disc. it's really easy once you figure it out.

I ALREADY DOWNLOADED A DVD DECRYPTER. AM I SUPPOSED TO SELECT ALL OF THE FILES BEFORE I START TO DECRYPT? AND IS IT BETTER TO BURN TO THE HARD DRIVE FIRST THEN TO DISK, OR DISK TO DISK?

it depends. If you only want the movie, you have to select "movie" mode in your decrypter. However, when you want the whole DVD , incl. menu's etc.. you MUST select ALL the files! Then you copy the files from DVD -> HD. Once you've done that, you use the DVD2ONE program, the output will be < 4.3 GB. Those files are ready to be written on your DVD+R!

DVDshrink isn't that good as DVD2ONE !! You can download a trial version at the official homepage of DVD2ONE. I suggest version 1.1.3 wich is the lastest & best for backing up your movies! You can also find it in kazaa but that's not fair to the maker of the programmer who did a hell of a good job with this piece of software.
