Im having a strange speed problem with my external USB DVD burner on my laptop. If I copy a DVD from my internal DVD reader directly on the fly to my external DVD burner, everything works fine. It will burn in about 10 minutes at 8x. However, if I burn the image from a DVD folder on my hard drive, it takes over an hour to burn. Any ideas as to why this is happening? The software (tried Ulead and Nero) will say its burning at 8x, but will take an hour. Anyone also have this problem or have any possible solutions?

    Thanks in advance

    1) Make sure your HD is in DMA mode.
    2) Try defragmenting your HD
