I've been trying to back up my DVD's but when it comes to burning it gets stuck on 1% and an error message pops up saying "Burning process failed at 4x". From what I can gather I'm not the only one who has had this problem. I've had three successful DVD's in the last 2 weeks, but the vast majority I've tried to burn have failed. Does anyone have any idea how I can stop it from happening? Power calibration errors can be caused by a number of things; bad media (update the firmware for your writer), a loose IDE or Power cable, even a burner, or DVD-Rom (if you are copying on the fly) on its way out. Only thing you can do is to try and isolate the problem by ruling out each of the above.

You can do this through Device Manager.
