burning slow on xp.

    ripping and burning music cd's used to take just a few minutes now it takes up to half hour to rip a cd, what could cause this. I heard somethin bout the dma mode but i cant change it. Heres a screen shot. Does anyone know why its doin this or am i better off buyin a new burner or maybe computer, this computer is around 3 yrs old and i did alot of burning so i dunno. [​IMG]

    You burner shouldn't be on the Primary IDE channel for a start!

    Your burner needs to be on it's own channel for good speeds and to have DMA enabled.

    Also, instead of using MS Paint to get screenshots, download a program called "FastStone". Version 5.3 is free. That's how I captured the shot above!
