Are you asking stricktly about burning software? Or do you mean to say software for backing up original DVD's?

I am thinking about picking up dvd burner but want to know which software would be best for converting and burning dvd movies. I have some DVD's that are cracking and would like to make new copies of them before they are completely ruined. As well as would like to improve my video library like everyone else on here.

    Thanks for all help

As was mentioned above, Shrink and Decrypter if you want reliable free software. If you plan on spending some cash I would still recommend Shrink and Decrypter but add AnyDVD (aprox. $30.00). These should fix ya up.

If you want the best Quality go with

    DVD Decrypter
    DVD Rebuilder
    CinemaCraft Encoder
    Nero or other Burning program

The EASY way out with good results
    AnyDVD & CloneDVD2

The FREE Way with good results
    DVD Decrypter
    DVD Shrink

The easy way out and still pretty darn close to Cinema Craft Encoder would be InterVideo's DVDCopy3 and AnyDVD. That combo produces better quality than CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD.

    Everybody is correct.

Free and easy: dvd shrink and dvdd. May need anydvd.

    anydvd and clone dvd2.

anydvd and copy dvd3. 2nd best IMO.

RB/CCE basic. Will need dvdd or other utility to rip to hdd. May need anydvd. Very simple after set up. Best of the bunch.

Everybody wants the easy way out!

DVD Rebuilder gets better with each new version and is worth checking out. There are even a couple of free encoders you can use with it to test it with.

CinemaCraft Encoder is top of the line in my book!
