THCill, Welcome to aD, I think I have the jest of your post - What brand of media are you using to burn your DVD's ? Check out my recommendation s - Many different problems are traced Back to poor grade media - your complaint sounds like a media problem. cheers.
Mumbles, What make and model is your Buslink burner? Is it an internal or external drive? Are you running any other programs while trying to backup? Also can you post your full system specs?
Where do i find your reconmendations ScubaPete, and I am not too sure what you mean by brand of media, they are DVDs like Family Guy and stuff. I just want to burn them and be able to watch them on tv. I got a DVD player for home that play both DVD+-R and RW. So i dont get it.
THCill, You can find good deals on media here: http://www.newegg.com/app/manufact.asp?catalog=71&DEPA=0 http://www.meritline.com http://shop.store.yahoo.com/supermediastore/index.html And if you live in the U.S. you can go to BestBuy, CompUSA, OfficeMax, OfficeDepot, etc ... to find branded Verbatim media. But ... before you buy any media check your standalone player's compatibility. Find out which media works best with your player. http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers
Ok. I am shoping for new Media currently. I am saposing I need to buy DVD+R's. Say when I get the media. Cant I just copy the Video_TS files to the CD Using Nero Burning Rom 6.0? How would this not work?
THCill, The media that has the "ScubaPete" stamp of approval would be - Sony, RiData, Ritek G04's and Verbatim DataLife. I've found excellent prices from Mertline.com - Prices do change so "Google" before you buy. I've even gotten good prices for small quanities from ebay - I certainly hope you meant DVD's and not CD's. - Cheers,
Mumbles: My dvdrw wouldn't work after I reformatted Windows XP. I updated my firmware and still have not mad a coaster. Your dvdrw drive probably needs to be updated. Goto the manufacture's website and download a firmware update I believe. Also, some of my dvd players wouldn't play my dvd's and some would. To fix this problem I selected the correct region instead of region free and they now have played everything that was burned in the correct region.
If somebody was downloading a movie from the Net they have to render it in some way, alter its form. Usually they use something like NeroVision or TMPGEnc to take it from an AVI to a MPEG. A MPEG isn't fully DVDB Compliant. You need a program like TMPGEnc DVD Author to take it from MPEG to your fully compliant VOB's. That is then put into a VIDEO_TS folder and burned with the stove of your choice A fully DVD Compliant DVD able to play on a circus Ferris wheel if you can get it to go fast enough - cheers, Pete
Don't repete your the ScubaPete! I'll say it buy Ritek G-04 "branded" (ie.Ridata) or Verbatim "datalife" you won't lose with these.
