If the cable box video is encrypted is it the same as a dvd with encryption when the cable companies play a movie or regular tv.
No computers are used in my recordings too much loss!!

I use a DVE795 for years for my dvd recording from a panasonic dvd recorder to a pioneer industrial dvd recorder and works great strips out the dvd encryption and records a perfect dvd with all menus just encryption gone.
Was wondering if the DVE795 will work on the cable tvs video.

Just gonna try to record some cable box video with hdmi out to a pvr recorder and was wondering if the dvd video and the cable box video would be or have the same encryption.

    thanks
