having uploaded cable and services files to dbox with ftp software, i rebooted the dbox but cable provider still won't change from "kabel deuschland " any ideas ??
Which image and which cables.xml? Services.xml and bouquets.xml have no affiliation to the scan options.
sportser image & a cables file which includes an ntl dublin file (which is where i am). i haven't reloaded a new image.i'm trying to upload new files to the existing image, which worked perfectly until recently. should i upload an image and then service & cable files ?
Use the irish cables.xml and move the highlighted bar in the scan menue to the provider line and choose with the ok button the right provider.
can you direct me to the irish cables xml please. do you reckon i can reload cables file without reflashing ?
In "DBox in Ireland" thread at the page before last, irish6. The unzipped file goes to /var/tuxbox/config. If you ftp to the box you are landing inside the var folder. You have to open the right subfolders.
not quite sure what you mean " when i ftp to the box that i am landing inside the var folder".also please elaborate on what you mean by it is important that you open the right subfolders.thanks.
There is a folder hierarchy at the box with main folders and subfolders. If you ftp to the box you are landing in the main folder var. You have to open the subfolder tuxbox and then the subfolder config.
i've tried that, then reflashed with sportster.now have "cable uk sym 6887 )only getting 54 channels. still can't get ntl dublin even with your instructions ?
You have to upload the file cables.xml from the unzipped irish6.zip to /var/tuxbox/config. Ftp to the box and go to that subfolder and you see the old cables.xml. Delete that file at the box and upload the new one from your pc. Reboot your box.
Everything sorted ( 141 channels ).Thank you so much, you've been a fantastic help.Just one last query. How best to save my good cables, services, and bouquet files ?
services.xml and bouquets.xml are located in /var/tuxbox/config/zapit Maybe you should first arrange your bouquets to your needs before you backup the file.
what's the best way to do that? It's not possible to copy and paste from ftp.Maybe i could use the files to help others in my area.
There is a program called 'Bouquet Editor'. You need to d/l the Bouquet File from your DBox & rearrange them using the 'Bouquet Editor'. The d/l & replace the old one on your DBox.
