No, DVDXCopy will not support dual layer media. It is intended for recording to DVD5 (4.7GB) media.

DVDXCopy is prone to software interference. Other than that, I've found it to be a decent program. It is an older program, and as such it was developed before dual layer media came on the market. Also, before some of the newer encryption systems, so it needs an up to date ripper for some of the newer movies.

DVDCopy3 from InterVideo will work with the dual layer media. In fact it will use the 8.5GB discs and compress to those if the movies to be recorded are larger. One of the better programs on the market.
