So, I can do it with a regular DVD rom and not need a DVD Burner?

the best way to do it is with a dvd burner but I have read that you can compress the game and burn it to cd just like dvd movies ....though I havent done it

(you would have to use programs like dvd decrypter and ifo edit but not strip anything off)

if you get it to work post back

here is a guide for dvd's but you would have to just replace dvd with ps2 game and not stripp the files

use either smart ripper or dvd decrypter
also I dont know how you are going to burn them with the original file endings (eg..core.gt3 or gt3.vol)

What is a website for that and what do you mean about the file endings? How could I change them and what do I change them to?

    sorry the guide is http://www.dvd2dvdr.com/part_i_IFO.htm

and I mean that the file endings would be messed up because when you decrypt them they would be in a ifo ending and then you would have to re-lable them (maybe) dont know if you would have to or not you would have to decrypt it first to find out what type of file it turns out to be then see if you need to use ifo edit
