Can i install Windows on a external Hard drive?

    is it possible to install Windows XP on my external 100gb hard drive?
    can i change the bios on my computer so it boots from the external hard drive?

    Is it possible? i have a internal hard drive aswell. can i disable internal for a bit while i load from my usb hard drive?
    what do i need in order to carry this out? how do i check if i can boot from usb?

    Hi agent47. First you need to check your bios and see if your computer can boot from usb. If it can yes you can do what you are asking. To check the bios reboot and hit what ever key it may be to enter setup. It could be the esc key, f10 key, delete key. Then go to boot menu. Look under removable devices to see if your external hdd is showing there. The external hdd needs to be plugged in and on for the bios to see the removable device.
