Can i play burned DVD RW's in my ps2 without a chip?

    Hi every one, I just want to ask if i can play burned DVD RW's in my ps2 without a chip?

    I would use dvd-r discs and if you don't want a modchip you can just get a flip top with swap magic.

    what if i cant get the [bold]flip top[/bold]?

    i just want to know if burnt DVD RW's games are going to work without a [bold]modchip[/bold]

    Ps2 games are actually pressed DVD/CD discs, they are not burned. Original games use the Burst Cutting Area (BCA) of the disc to identify themselves to the PS2 unit. The BCA is not part of a disc that you can burn on, it is only replicated on pressed discs.

    So, the only way to play backups is to get boot-discs or a mod-chip.

    Even with a modchip and/or swap discs you cant USE RW
    You must use +r or -r
    I just installed my fliptop
