I have a version 7 ps2 and a magic 2 mod chip w/out clip. I backed up a ps2 game onto a maxell dvd-r with a sony drx-500. When I try to load the burned ps2 game I get the red screen, but originals and burned ps1 games work fine. In past threads it was mentioned that a bad chip or bad installation of chip would cause the red screen. My question, before I waste any more time tearing this thing apart again is, can low quality media or burn speed cause the red screen? Any help is appreciated.

No it wouldn't you would get as far as the playstation logo and it wouldn't load any further. Red screen usually means there is an error with the modchip
