can backup ps2 iso's be played of ps3's HDD? if so, how? (maybe even a site with instructions?)

would it wreck/wear down the ps3 like on the ps2 if you used swap magic because it stressed the laser out alot reading the burned disks.

edit: ive been searching, i cant find this!

well seeing as ps3 can run linux os, i was assuming there was some type of ps2 iso loader available, even something like a new hd advance or whatever

well I'm not sure, well i have absolutely no clue really but i would think that you would be able to load ps2 games as well as ps3 games when the loader does come out. would kinda make sense in a way, anyway we'll see what happens. hopefully the answers yes though.
