can the RPM of a hard drive be increased in order to damage it???

    Whats the purpose for doing this? Is this a warranty thing?

    Might help.

    Good luck with this im sure if you do this and and then revert the settings. They wouldnt expect this kinda thing so it should work.

    Out of intrest are you gonna try this? Would be intresting to see if it would work?

    Just think youd be the first man on afterdawn to have overclocked his harddrive!

    Am i right? Or has any one else tried this?

    Just hook it up to the mains, that should do the trick, in fact the disc would spin that fast it would be launched into the air, good for clay pigeon practice!
    Want it to go faster? 3 phase!




    BTW, I realise the motors are DC not AC, & they would not spin at all! You would just blow up the motor. Retiring to a safe distance would be advisable.
