CAN U PUT A VER. 7 LASER INTO A VER. 4 PS2 ?? PLZ HELP !

    I was just woundering if there is any way or if u could buy a version 7 ps2 laser and put it in a version 4 playstation 2 ?? plz help !!

    You should be able to because ver 4 - ver 7 looks the same inside. Looks like everything should fit but I haven't tried it before. Do more research. Don't want to get any hardware conflicts.

    The wiring is differant for a 4 and a 5-6-7. The 5-6-7 uses ribbon cables to connect the drives, the 4 does not. It used tradition wire and plugs.

    So basically NO.

    NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    even if you were able to get the connectors to work. The GPU would not realize the length of laser Line and would burn the motor out. Repeat hand of experience.

    how about changing the whole drive?
    If you can what ver. will interchange?

    Only a 4 will work with a 4. Any earlier drive will be just as bad as the new one. You simply need to replace the whole system, It's worth the while in the long run.
