Can Wii read DVD9?

    From how I understand it, currently no, but the wiikey will be able to with the next update, which is to be released any time now.

    No you don't understand! can Wii read DVD9?! like games? like god of war for the PS2? ARE THERE GONNA BE DVD9 GAMES FOR THE WII?!

    well considering the fact the update stated its giving the capability of Reading DVD9 then yes the laser obviously can read the format with some tweaks, as for Games being produced in DVD9, not happening Nintendo sticks with 1 format and the way they have encrypted the GC, and Wii games in the past throughout the life of this system and as we have always know nintendo they will keep it the same, why do you care so much anyways? DVD9 just seems to cause utter problems with backing up the games as long as Nintendo continues to produce The high quality titles they are know for I could care less for what type of media they use.

    No, YOU dont understand, read what people say! More than likely though, they would go with multi-disk games, like Tales of Symphonia rather than DVD-9.
