I have downloaded some radio show bits and sometimes they go into a commercial and was wondering is there any way to edit it off?

    I have Nero 5.5_

use the nero wave editor that nero came with...unless you buy the mp3 plugin, you will not be able to save the edited file as mp3.

You can also try Goldwave editor which is a free shareware download at goldwave.com. It'll enable you to edit, mix, add fades and filter out clicks and pops in your recordings. It's easy to use and has a lot of additional features to help finalize your project.

If you want to edit without reencoding (directly editing the MP3 - saves quality), you should use mp3directcut. Do a google search for it.

rjamorim is right (I don't think he nees to be seconded BTW ;) - with mp3directcut you can even apply fadein/out without decoding (and re-encoding).
Someone posting here 1ce in a while would say:

    "Hm...eh...

It is available on this site (afterdawn.com and/or cd-rw.org)." ;)
