my dvd burner is on the secondare ide channel. I wasn't able to change it to dma mode. I uninstalled still did not do the trick. What could be the problem? the current transfer mode says pio mode.

Try uninstalling both channels and the LITE-ON.
Sometimes it takes a few tries and reboots.

uninstalled the both of the ide controllers 5 times still i could not change the pio mode to dma mode. Could it be the burner itself? I hope i don't have to buy a new one.
