I purchased the movie "Unbroken". When tying to make a backup I receive an error message to this effect. "temporarily muted due to Cinavia protection. not authorized for playback on this device". Tried Anydvd to Shrink to Imgburn. Not working. Help!

Cinavia technology is used in Blu-ray Disc players to identify and limit the use of copies of these movies, television shows, and other professionally produced videos that have been made without the permission of the copyright owner.

    Ain't Google great.....

It must be able to be ripped as there's plenty of bluray rips on torrents, try dvdfab or search forum over at videohelp.com

I didn't dig very deep, but there is bound to be something saying one thing or the other...
My reference to Google should have triggered a search...
I saw that Cinavia technology has a watermark in the soundtrack on a legitimate disk that's recognized by blu-ray players and probably won't copy.. but then, who knows.

Thanks for the reply. This is not a blu ray disk.

Sorry, thought you meant the disk being blu ray , do all blu ray players have this problem or just older ones? After your post I tried it on another player (about 6 months old), I have and it worked fine, did not work on two other older players.
