I keep receiving an I/O error. It says...

    Device: [0:0:0]_NEC DVD_RW ND-3550A 1.05 (D:)(SCSI)
    CDB: 2A 00 00 0A F6 E0 00 00 20 00
    Interpretation: Write (10) - Sectors: 718560 - 718591
Reason: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

Could someone please tell me what I need to do. I don't like using my original dvd's, because I have kids and they get scratched. I cannot figure what I need to do. This has happened with all the dvd's that I have bought recently, including some older dvd's that I recently puchased such as Halloween Resurrection and Diamonds Are Forever.

so you have successfully ripped them onto the hard drive?
what type of media are you using?
what software are you using to backup?
