Hi, My Memorex DVD+RW/+R burner will no longer burn DVD+R media. It burns DVD+RW, CDR, CDRW just fine. I tried different brands of DVD+R's and none of them work. I'm running XP. Any ideas on how I can fix this?
Where do I get the firmware? I looked at the Memorex site but couldn't find one for mine. Memorex DVD+RW/+R 2.4X8AA is the one that I have.

I ran that program. Not sure what I am looking for. When I hit the Drive Info button it gave me the following information. OK, I ran a search to see if others had the same problem - see if this is any help - it sets your DMA - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/121650 This will straighten out some problems see if it will help identify your discs - it's your Firmware 1.64 - http://www.opendrivers.com/categorycompany/15/1300/Memorex.html Let me know if it's of help - Pete
Thanks for all your help. I checked and the DMA was already turned on. I downloaded the 1.64 firmware and ran it. The burner seems to be working fine now. It burnt a DVD+R ok. I will do some more burning to make sure it's going to keep on working. Again, thanks for all of your help. Blander
