Hi, I'm using Nero version 7.8.5.0 Burning a cd or vcd or svcd isn't a problem. But since a few weeks I can't seem to burn dvd's anymore on my laptop HP pavilion dv4000. I tried another one this morning using Nero Recode because I only wanted part of the original dvd file on a new dvd. This is the log file I got; ********** Nero Recode ********** Version: 2.5.2.0 Project type: Main Movie to DVD Compilation name: Heart on TV (CO Target size: DVD5 (2282925) 10:06:14 File LangStreamPatcher.cpp, Line 56 Command table patching started... 10:06:14 File LangStreamPatcher.cpp, Line 135 All tables successfully patched! Now, I read here that more people had the same problem in the past, but it got solved by fixing the secundair IDE. Thing is, when I go to hardware on my computer, there isn't a secundair IDE to be found. (see scan, sorry but it's in dutch) Can someone please help? Thanks, Dirk
i suggest u remove the serial numbers at the top line of your log file other then that.. ntohing else
You have Roxio installed and that conflicts with Nero. Run Roxio Zap to remove completely. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml
ok, i tried as nasayin suggested, then tried to burn a dvd again, got the message "burn process completed succesfully" (sometimes it does that, sometimes the error as mentioned above), tried to play it on the computer which doesn't work and tried on my standalone dvd player which doesn't work either :-( Anyone any other ideas? Thx, Dirk
You probably do not have any peripherals on your secondary ide. It looks like your hard drive is primary master and your dvd writer is primary slave. Can you try burning at 4x instead of 2.4x. And please post your new log file.
nasayin, I burned the same dvd at 4x. The burning ended successfully but again, neither the computer or dvd player can seem to read anything afterwards. I think you dvd burner is really picky on media. Do you have any Verbatim media that you can get your hands on. Been reading some other forums and some other users have the same problem as you do.
It's possible nasayin, but I've been using the computer with the burner for about 1,5 years now and didn't have any problem untill it started a few weeks ago. There's nothing special I installed then which could have caused it, at least, not that I can remember. thx, Dirk
