I am trying to use dban to wipe an older laptop so I can sell it. I have the dban iso on a cdr but can't get the laptop to boot from the cdr? Any suggestions appreciated.

try the disk on another computer to see if will boot or not because if not then the disk was not made bootable.

Is there a way to stop it on my good computer if it were to start as I would not want ti wipe it's HD. I read somewhere that if only the dban ISO is on the disc, something is not right. I wondered how an image could boot a computer.

disconnect the data cable to the hd before trying to boot from that disk if it is a desktop.
