So my brother recently bought a "new" 360 that he wanted me to flash. It's a 74850c. The probe I used to have broke, so he bought one from Ebay. This one right here. http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-Liteon-...17?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0db3ade5. Now I've gotten the keys off of 74850's in the past with no problems, so I figured once the probe arrived it would be the same. No dice. I spent the last hour trying to get the key to this drive. I get "Bad Serial Data" every single time I try to get the key. I've tried everything. Drive closed, half open, light on the CK3 red and blue, probing 708 and 709 in addition to 707, nothing. I even tried the PhatKey method. It failed of course. I'm wondering if it's the probe he bought. It shows up in JF as Prolific USB to Serial. I can't remember off the top of my head what my old probe came up as in JF, but this probe looks exactly like the one I used to have (which I bought with my old connectivity kit). The probe originally didn't show up in my drivers, but I downloaded some drivers from Team Xecuter and it showed up, so I had high hopes. This is my current setup, BTW. On-board SATA, no VIA CK3 Lite That USB probe Newest JF My only guess is the probe is the culprit. I don't want him to have to spend another $25+ on a real Team Xecuter probe, so I'm seeing if you guys have any ideas first.
