    Hi,
I've got some MPEG-2 files from my video camera and although I can see them fine in Windows Media Player, I can't import them to Premier (ver. 5.1). It allows me to import them but when I try to playback them, the program repeats small chunks of the material with a "jerky" motion. (I used CaptureWizard for the capture.)

    Any help out there?
    Thanks...

I still have the problem, but I tried Premiere 6.5 and everything works there (with MPEG-2 I mean). In your case though, in Premiere 5.1 you should be able to import AVI's. So I guess it smells like a codec problem. Try to import AVI's encoded with another codec and see what it happens...
