My friend uses internet explorer and whenever she tries to open a video clip on the internet, nothing happens. She can see the javascript// message at the bottom of the screen (toward the left corner of the screen), but nothing loads. What could be wrong? I cleared her cookies and history, but that doesn't seem to help.

    What could be the problem?

What type of clip is it? Do you have QuickTime, or WMP? Are your codecs up to date?

they're avi files....and others are wma files, etc.

She was able to open them before, so I don't know what the problem is...

If the missing codec is the problem, what steps can she follow to get them installed?

Hmm. Is she running any new security software that may be blocking a pop-up...? If the movie opens in a new window the new software may be preventing it.

As far as it being a codec problem...I really couldnt help you. I've only been helped...never fear tho, someone smart will comeby soon!
