Can't play audio CD's

    Hi I used to be able to play audio cd's on my pc now nothing works I've used all the media players too, however nothing works. My OS is XP Pro it's all updated and stuff, any and all help is greatly appreciated.

    have u tried ripping them to your hdd and playing from there

    I fixed the problem. I did the following clicked Start/Run then typed regedit, in regedit went to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\MediaResources\mci

    Clicked the + next to the mci folder. Then backed up the "cdaudio" key by right clicking, selecting export and saving to my desktop. I then right clicked the "cdauio" key selected delete and rebooted my machine.

    That fixed it yay! for me.
