i backed up my dvd, and my ps2 wont read it, these are the steps i took....created iso image with dvd decrypter and compressed the full disc with dvd shrink cause it was too large being dual layered..then i burnt the compressed image to disk using dvd decrypter...and it doe'nt boot just says cannot read disk?

    anyone now what went wrong...

oh yeah i tried the backed up disk on my pc and dvd decrypter tried to read it but came up with an I/O error.....there was no RCE protection on the original disk but there was CSS/CPPM protection...

i can give full error if needed!

no i dont have my ps2 chipped yet, i used packard bell dvd+r 4.7gb media....i made 1 other movie backup with no css/cppm protection and my ps2 plays that fine.
at the end of the i/o error it said illegal mode for this track?

do i need a patch or something?

i burnt at a maximum speed of 6x although it never actually burned that fast, the media i was using can only handle 2.4-4x max.the original dvd was dual layer over 7gb...

this was the full read error after i burnt it:

    I/o error

    device [0:1:0] dvdrw ide 16x a063 (f:)(ata)

    scistatus:0x02 interpretation: check condition

    cdb: 28 00 00 22 5e da 00 00 09 00

    interpretation: read (10)- sectors: 2252506-2252514

    sense area: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0a 00 00 00 00 64 00 00 00 00 00

interpretation: illegal mode for this track

try using DVD Shrink and it will shrink it to only the movie and nothing else (no menus, extra features, and such) and it should be able to fit on a regular dvd+r. Hope that helps.

Playstation 2 consoles do not require a modchip to play DVD movie backups, however, some PS2's seem to have a problem with the compression scheme used by some programs to compress the movie to fit on a DVD5 blank. Try a different compression program.
