I download the free version of dvdinfopro with the banner. The program crashes everytime I click on the banner to go to the next step. I also tried advdinfo but I could not unzip the file because it gives me an error message stating that I need to install ASPI for Win32 and can not use the version that comes with Nero 6. Any help.

I am now able to get dvdinfopro to stop crashing but when I click on the media icon I still do not get any media info. Sometimes the screen does not switch from the drive window and other times it acts like it is going to bring back info but they it says it can not read disk. I will try another brand of disk later, but right now I am trying to read Memorex DVDs. These are 8x. Do I need to turn off any security software such as NAV or not have DVD43 running?

Nephilim, I will give it a try. Which version should I try? The post appeared to be old so have all the bugs been fixed on version 1.8

I've heard good reports for both versions so if one doesn't happen to agree with your system you can always try the other :)

I still can't read the dvd manufacturer code even after downloading ASPI driver and verifying that it was install properly. Now I am getting the below message.

Your drive does not support the commands required to read MID codes on this media.

I bought a 25pk Memorex +r DVDs before I read that they were crap and wanted to know who manufacturer them My writer is a HP 300N drive and I have a DVD ROM.

bigdm, NERO Suite 6 has its own version of DVDInfo. If you go to Nero Toolkit, there's a app called Nero CD-DVD Speed. Open it, click on Extra, Disk Info. It should give you manufacturer info. This DVD manufacturer ID utility is also in Nero app InfoTool under the Disc tab. And for people who want to know exactly what kinds of media your drive can burn (+/-R, +/-RW, D/L), this info is also in the Drive tab.
