I was downloading Whitechicks the movie like 2 months ago.
I got a letter saying that I was downloading a file from a server. I used suprnova.org to the file torrent.
Now my question is is there any program that encrypts my Ip so i dont get caught again???

    Simple answer: NO

You cant hide it from youur ISP... SIMPLE

They have a log of every single website a person goes to, how much traffic they used etc, and they have a log of all the IP's that particular customers have used etc, and there is no way in stopping it, simple.

Simple way is to either go buy or hire the movie.

why does the ISP care what you do? I was also told that there is a monitor on the internet providors that reports what you do to some federal agency. Is that true?

the server probaly didnt do it theres a company out that now monitors every file sharing program out there and searches for certain hash numbers of known files and then reports you to your isp, they dont even have to download it from you anymore, they just perform searches on any network and if you have the file your user name will be displayed . i have seen letters you have got and checked the web site of the company but cant remember it at this time.

I got a letter from my ISP for downloading a TV show episode off suprnova. I got my letter around the same time you did, so I'm guessing it's the same letter you got. Do you live in Canada and use telus?
If so this article will probly intrest you.

Good news is your ISP doesn't really care, all they do is forward the complaint from the person who recorded your id sharing the file, so you don't really need to worry because for you to get in any trouble, ie: get sued, they'd need to get your ISP to reveal your name first, which isn't in their intrest so they'd fight it, and even then it'd be hard for them to sue you for sharing only part of a file since you only share pieces, of course this all assumes you live anywhere other than the US.

This really pisses me off that they'd bother me about downloading a TV show, especialy since I only downloaded it because I'm a huge fan and it was only released in the US.
