Cell CPU's have not been implemented in any major home or business computing (PC) environment just yet. Maybe in the future they will be. The Cell CPU's are used in the PS3, however, benchmarking the PC and PS3 is not possible since you cannot limit the variable to the single variable you need to compare the CPU's. The PC's and PS3 are two different machines built for accomplishing different tasks. So answering the question whether it's better than Intel or AMD CPU's is not possible at this moment. Rumor has it that IBM will built it's newest supercomputer based on cell technology. The Cell CPU was created by IBM, Toshiba, and Sony at a cost of about $400,000,000 if you are interested. Yes that is 400 million dollars.
No one knows, but even if it is, it's not like someone like you can do anything with it. It's not available for home use.
