    Hi,
The FX5200 is not real powerful, but it will play Doom3 on your PC.
It will play @ 640x480 but with all the DX9 special effects enabled.
Apparently this is much more satisfying than 800x600 with effects disabled, so an older-gen more powerful board would not be a real advantage.
    ATI 9200 sucks really badly...
An ATI 9600 would be more similar to the FX5200.
What you need is an ATI 9600XT, with 256MB (or even 128MB) of faster-clocked memory.
It will cost a bit more that FX5200 but is affordable, and much better performance.
Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9600XT 256Mb DDR AGP is $199 (CDN/AUS) which is $160 USD or 88 Pounds Sterling.
    Regards

ive been looking to ati cards but im a little bit confuse with all the names and number like:

    9600`s
    pro,xt,saphire xt,se,power color etc...

    9800`s
    se,xt,saphire

which one do you think is best ( 100-160usd$ range) is best.
