    Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone knew how to change the default video codec when playing mpeg2(or any video type) through WMP. Roxio seems to be the one being used, but the aspect ratio is all messed up.

-have all the common codecs (ffdshow, divx, xvid, ac3filter, OGG, vobsub)
-Roxio player, PowerDVD, and nero showtime player installed
-would like to uninstall Roxio player and nero showtime, but can't find anyway to do so (still need to keep Roxio media center and nero installed, but the players removed).
-None of the codecs show up in the video codecs in control panel
-OR a way to change the default video codec...

Any information would be greatly appreciated

Directshow works on a priority system. The filter with the higher priority that is cappable of connecting is used.

There are several filter manager type apps available that will let you change the priority (merit) of filters. So lower the roxio filter or increase whatever you would like to use in its place.

Some players like Media Player Classic have built in support for this type of thing.
