Changing directories in explorer to not be read only

    I am in windows explorer and I right click on the folder that I want to make not read only. I uncheck the box and it asked me if I want to include the subfolders and files under this and I click yes, then it asked me to click apply. When I go back in it's still read only is checked again. can you help

    Is the folder in question on your hard drive?
