I am trying to use virtualdub and xvid to change (reduce) the resolution of some files so that they will play on a stand-alone dvd player.
I have tried to use the xvid home and mpeg4@L5 options but the output stil comes out at
    1024 x 576.
What am I doing wrong ?

Select the Resize filter (Video > Filters > Add > Resize).
For the new size enter 720 then beside 'Codec-friendly sizing' check 'Multiples of 16' and OK.
    Click 'Video' > 'Compression'
Highlight the XviD compressor and press the 'Configure' button and 'Load Defaults'.
    Then save the new file.
