Chris, that is a superb review m8. Very helpful.

I have the Nero CD and DVD Speed programs so I ran them on my first backup, Mission Impossible 2. I backed it up on a Datawrite Swirl disc which I was given as a sample and used DVD Shrink and burned with Record Now Max so I thought I would run it through Nero CD Speed.
I have never used this before so am not sure if I have all the settings and stuff right but the yellow line actually went down and the green line went mainly in a straight line but looking at your pics the yellow should go in a straight line and the green should go up.

Am I doing something worng ??

The DVD does play ok on my PS2 though.

    Thanks for any info, STEVE

I dont mean to sound ungrateful or an ass but those clone ritek are expensive. It only 0.99 pound per disc if you buy the 300 disc set. That 1.65 us dollars each. http://www.blank-cd-cdr.com/ has Ritek GO4's for much less as low as 1.53 us each and that for the 100 disc set. Not to mention it also free shipping.

There even cheaper now dam you cdr why didnt you drop the price 2 days ago.

Just to let you know my above post should have said Discwrite White Swirl disc, not Datwrite.

    Hi Shindou...

The store you mention is in the US... dvd-and-media is in the UK and 99p is an excellent price for Ritek in the UK. I take it the store you mention doesn't ship free to the UK!!

Also the picture they are showing isn't a Ritek brand... may be an overprinted disc by the looks of it.

[bold]Shindou[/bold] First of, comparing disc prices in the UK with prices in the US isn't very smart to say the least of things. The US will always get far better prices than the UK, something we in the UK will just have to deal with for the time being.

Secondly, i think the prices on the Cone Disc are actually quite good. Not only is it a printable surface, which i guess the discs you were comparing it to weren't, it also is asured Grade A quality straight from Ritek. There are only two official on line Ritek media dealers in the UK, one being http://www.dvd-and-media.com soquality shuold never be an issue. I am aware that you can get cheaper un branded Ritek G04's in the UK, i am using some myself at the minute. However, as soon as my discs run out, i wil be buying some of these Clone Disc. Im brave ebough to say that they have similar quality to the Pioneer own brand.

At the end of the day, i will not force my opinion on anyone. I'll just provide what information i know, and you can make your own judgements. I hope i have been helpful. I'll be testing Princo 4x shortly from th same retailer.

[bold]Biglad[/bold] - If the yellow line went down, it would possibly suggest a problem with the drive you are using, as opposed to the disc. However there are settings that can change these things on your drive through the Device Manager i think. The green line should have gone up generally, unless the drive settings are set differently again. The green line shows the transfer rate and usually will go up as the disc progresses.

However, in saying that, as long is it didnt jump about to much, the quality of the material on the disc will be fine. I like to run surface and file testing just to make sure of this.

    Hope this helps you BigLad,
