Well...like it says in the title. I'm not really sure why it would be doing this and I have never had any problems with it crashing in the past. Basically it will be at least 25% deep into creating the temp VTS files and then freeze. Anyone know what the problems may be?

Is your system overheating? Have you checked your CPU fan and heatsink for dirt and dust? That's a good place to start as it's waiting a while befor crashing.
Make sure you don't have some kind of a problem movie doing this as well. Try a movie that you've burned before.

try doing an uninstall and doing a clean reinstall

also are you doing a disc cleanup and defragging weekly?

may be an internal problem within the PC as said
