Put simply , these baffle me . All I want is to watch a DVD on my PC . I have XP ( plus SP2 ) . Could anyone kindly advise me which out of the multitude of these I should safely download and use . I have very little knowledge of this subject. Many thanks in anticipation of a reply.
You need to install a software DVD player such as PowerDVD, or if you want to use windows media player you need a DVD plug-in such as InterVideo's DVD XPack. The problem is it is not free. Does anyone know of a free software dvd player ?
I'm not aware of any free software DVD players since the codec must be licensed. The basic versions for either PowerDVD or WinDVD can be had on ebay for less than $5
Almost all of your DVD drives, Video cards, or PC you buy come with some sort of program to play DVD's. Like Win DVD or Power DVD. A lot of people don't even realize they have these disk's. look around you may just have one and not even realize it.. good luck Burners Nec 2500A Pioneer DVR 105
There is the popular Media Player Classic + K-lite Codec Pack. The FREE package is downloadable from here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm
