i have a compaq proliant 800 server here and it just doesnt boot, it will turn on, fans spin, hdd spins up, everything seems fine, except the hdd shows no activity, i cant boot from the floppy drive or the cd-rom drive, and nothing shows on the screen, i have tried different video cards, different ram, all confirmed working on 2 other computers, but every time, nothing, just turnes on, but no output whatsoever, oh and the onboard video doesnt output anything either, could someone help me out?

    any help is greatly appreciated

I would say your having trouble with the motherboard.

Have you had any overheats or shutdowns?

Try your complete setup (Excluding the motherboard) in another machine, if this works then you know the problem is the motherboard.

Have you dissmantled and re-built your machine before this problem started to occure?

Let me know how you get on.
