    i know that its easier to use dvdxcopy...but is the quality any different then using say dvd decrypter and dvdshrink?

    also...can someone explain to me what the difference is between -r/+r -rw/+rw ?

    DVDXCopy has known issues with certain DVD players (most notably RCA.) It also adds an extra Warning message to all the other warnings at the begining of the disc. Other main limitation is you are unable to make a back up of a back up.

    DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink offer more options; for example removing unused languages (do you really need Potuguese?) to reduce the compression of your final copy.

    You don't need to use DVD Decrypter with DVD Shrink. Shrink rips and converts at the same time.
