compatable media

    Hi can anyone help I have just bought an optorite dd1601 writer and I'm wondering which is the best 8x media to use that is compatable. I'm using dvd shrink with nero. cheers

    Hi briangall: I got some verbatim + 8x's that are doing a great job. Your burner should do both + and - formats,however if you use - , then you can only burn at 8x max. With + , you can burn up to 16X. I rarely go over 4x. "possiblility of burn errors" I use verbatim until they run out.They are pretty good. Quality branded Riteck ridata is good, but the most sought after are the TY's "taiyo yuden" made by mitsubishi. Maxell's aren't bad from the store bought media. Don't use store brand media like staples,memorex, and other generic names. The Quality branded media will save you a lot of problems down the road.
