Confused about Online play with backups.

    ok, I heard that you can't play online games with a modchip. if this is true, what is the point of backing up your online capable games and extracting DNAS ID and all that? You need the modchip to boot the backup right?

    Whoever told you that is full of crap. If you put the DNAS on your burned game (known as patching the game) then you will be able to play your burned games online.

    Not if you have an active modchip in your machine. If your modchip is on, DNAS will fail. People are playing backups online using either the swap method or some have reported success by booting the backup with a modchip then waiting about 5 minutes or so for their modchip to put itself into sleep mode before logging into the server.
