CONfused

    Im confused ..do u need a mod chip to play ps2 back up games or not?...i tried to burn madden 2003...burn went well but when i put in ps2 ...got message to insert a formated disk?,,,angela

    You don't necessarily need a mod chip. You could also use the swapmagic/slide card method (like I do) or flip top. Also you can use some other bootable disc (gameshark, action replay) then the slide card/flip top.

    If you don't want to go with a modchip, then SwapMagic v3.3 would probably be your choice. If you have an older version ps2, then a 'fliptop' or slidecard' would work well with SwapMagic. If you have a slimline, then a 'slimtool', 'replacement fliptop', or 'tape mod' would suit you.

    This site has all of the necessary knowledge on each of these methods. Look around and see which method you feel comfortable with and we can probably help you if you need it.
