I have connected my laptop via S-Video to my TV and can view my desktop wallpaper, but no icons or mouse movement. In addition I have tried to run a video (using Windows Media Viewer) with the same results, it shows on my laptop, but not on the tv. (wallpaper is still the only thing showing.

Normally only a powerpoint presentation or movie will go through the s-video. At least that's all that I've bothered to find. Try playing a movie through what ever you use and see if the movie shows up on your tv.

I did just break one of the s-video pins off into the plug in my laptop. Does anyone know how to get the pin out or how easy it is to replace the plug in my laptop?
