    Hi,
I have downloaded Burnout 3 (from the net) and burned it at:

    Speed: 4x
Type: NTSC (im using a PAL console)
    Mod: Slide Card Combo 3.2
    DVD: Verbatim 4X max
DVD Burner: NEC ND-2510A DUAL LAYER 8X DVD -/+ R

My TV shows the game normally, but my control pad doesn't work, the pad works with originals and my backup CD-R's, I have only tested it with this game (I haven't burned any other games) just in case any one could know why?

I was thinking I burning it at 1X but wasn't too sure if this would fix it?

    Any help is most appreciated,

Edit: I have just burnt the game Psi-Ops (NTSC again) at 1x but still the same problem.

    Thanks.

Strange problem. The game loads but you can't use the controller. Have you tried different controllers or plugging it into a different port?

I only have the one PS2 pad (which works perfect) and a few ps1 pads i've tried them all but still no luck, although when i do take the controller out i get the message to incert the controller again, but i none of the buttons work, so i can't get past the 'Press Start Button' screen,

    Edit:
I just found out my console is Version 5 could this have anything to do with it?

Although i was granteed that the swap magic 3 (EU) could work on any version.

    Thanks

Is your machine the same region as Burnout 3? (NTSC/PAL)

no, Burnout 3 is NTSC my PS2 is PAL, but the swapcard magic that i got said that it can play all region NTSC and PAL games, its just seems to have a problem gaining access to the main menu of the game.

devilhunt i have tried everything, i am not using a chip btw jsut the Swap Magic + Slide Card kit.

I just realised that i was wrong it is a ver 4 PS2 which i think could be the source of the problem, although i have got one working back-up; baldurs Gate Dark Alliance 2.

Hope that helps to find a soloution to my problem?

Rips = Something was "ripped" from the original game, therefore making the filesize smaller. There are lots of problems with rips unless they're made by a respected ripper group.

P.S. That Windows XP skin looks pretty cool... where do YOU guys get all your skins?
