convert divx to xvid

    hello all, i am trying to make some dvds out of the movies i downloaded. i want to play on portable dvd player. i used tmepg to make a dvd from an xvid, worked great however the divx only show black on the dvd player. i need to know how to convert the divx to the xvid, what program and how to do it please. its very important so my kids have something to watch on our 12 hr drive!! thanks pat

    There's no need to convert to Divx, then to DVD. By converting Xvid to Divx you are degrading the quality of the original video which will then amount to a poorer quality DVD. Sometimes TMPGEnc has trouble reading Xvid files. Installing FFDSHOW usually fixes this.
