    MakeMKV.
Click 'File' > 'Open files' and in the folder, select the 'Video_TS.IFO' file.
Choose the main Title - usually the largest file.
This example I selected the largest video title and the ac3 audio.
Select an output device and 'Make MKV'.

    Clipboard01.

I selected a flash drive for the output OK without problems; played back ok on my WD TV.
Just make sure if the output is over 4GB that it's formatted NTFS.

You can see in the screenshot "output folder" below that the default drive listed (J) or the yellow folder directly beside the drop down triangle. The yellow folder should bring up a tree structure where you can select any device or folder to plonk the file your about to create. For the sake of speed place it on your hard drive somewhere, then transfer to whatever device after.

Mentions protection, perhaps shrink didn't remove all of it.try the last version of dvdfab version 8.Be sure to set output to 8gb or it will compress the dvd which you don't want

Before getting the movie use the settings of dvd fab (i assume your on v8 like i said) to set the output folder or location where you want to store the about to be ripped movie, its located under general, press the square thingy to the right. The green circle with the tick at top right is settings.
    Under general untick
    check for new version
    allow running of multiple instances

    Under dvd/bluray
enable vso burning engine from the first drop down
    under dvd
    set write speed to x6
writable dvd 5 size set it to custom from the drop down & use this4485
writable dvd 9 set to custom 8500

Under protection make sure all are ticked

Under path player enable as necessary

Under streams this should be self explanatory

Under dvd copy select dvd 9

once all done click ok,i'd close fab then re open just to make sure settings are implemented

dvdfab is free to rip always the rest of it will be trial the rest of which you don't need

select dvd copy then main movie, that should be it.

i use fab when shrink doesn't work.then once the dvd is ripped i go back to shrink to edit the main move & any titles i want including trimming front & end credits which is just junk that doesn't need encoding,it will also allow a very slightly better quality encode
